Science-based educational program provided by the DEA and Discovery Education on youth prevention of opioid misuse in a classroom setting
Developed in collaboration with the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Operation Prevention is a web-based program that provides digital lessons and activities, virtual field trips, and self-paced modules on opioid misuse for elementary, middle, and high school students.
Materials include an educator’s guide and a parent’s toolkit, and are available nationwide in English and Spanish at no charge to schools.
The curriculum is updated regularly to reflect the latest science of addiction and developments in the opioid crisis, especially as it affects youth.
