Treatment and Recovery Locator Websites

This is a tool from Shatterproof that uses several sources of data to rate treatment facilities based on quality. A person can take an assessment and search for facilities that provide the best fit based on the needs of the person and quality of care. The tool is currently being piloted in six states (Louisiana, Delaware, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, and West Virginia) with plans to extend to all 50 states.  

This website from Google gives individuals access to prescription drug disposal sites, addiction treatment locations, recovery support services, and a naloxone locator tool all in one place. 

OMI is a coalition of 17 local governments, universities, and nonprofits who meet monthly to swap insights, share best practices, and test their theories of change. The website also includes news and articles about local governments mapping the epidemic, examples of applications the government has provided the public, and open data sets which those applications use. It also recommends apps for use to access these data.

This searchable website provides a directory of Opioid Treatment Providers (OTPs) in the United States. OTPs are the only facilities that are licensed to treat opioid use disorder with methadone. 

The Recovery Resource Hub provides an extensive interactive map to find treatment and recovery support services.

Tool to find practitioners authorized to treat opioid use disorder (OUD) with buprenorphine by state. A drop down list provides a view all of the practitioners waived to provide buprenorphine for the treatment of OUD in a city, state or zip code.

FindTreatment.gov is a newly launched website from SAMHSA that helps individuals and families find treatment for substance use disorder. Treatment facilities can be sorted by the type of treatment they offer, including treatment for co-occurring mental illness and substance use and telemedicine care that can be accessed virtually.  The new locator also allows searches of programs based on payment option, age, languages spoken, and access to medication-assisted treatment for an opioid use disorder.
