Opioid and substance use resources.  The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is a great resource for implementing medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) in rural settings.

This searchable database through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) provides communities, clinicians, policymakers, and others with the information and tools to incorporate evidence-based practices to address substance use disorder. 

This comprehensive report from the Surgeon General addresses the entire continuum of care for substance use disorder (SUD) including chapters on prevention, early intervention, treatment, and recovery. There are also chapters on the neurobiology of SUD, the healthcare system, and specific suggestions for key stakeholders. The appendices at the end of the report contain many links to helpful resources. 

This special release by the Surgeon General is an extension of the previous comprehensive report on substance use disorders, highlighting extensive opioid-related information in one document. It provides the latest data on prevalence of substance use, opioid misuse, opioid use disorders, opioid overdoses, and related harms. There are additional resources embedded throughout the report.

This is a website that offers states resources on best practices, innovative policies, and emerging issues related to opioid use disorder treatment, with a particular focus on telehealth, expanding harm reduction services, and serving marginalized populations during the coronavirus pandemic. 

This website was developed in partnership between the CDC and SAMHSA and offers free help to anyone in the country who is providing or planning to provide harm reduction services to their community. The center does so by connecting harm reduction programs with resources and experts that can help them deliver even better care.
